Rain’s Agency Targets Japanese Market

Rain’s
entertainment agency J. Tune Entertainment (CEO Cho Dong-won) is
preparing to launch a cellular content service for Japanese fans.

      

On
April 28th, a J. Tune representative announced that they have signed a
contract with ACCEL Corporation, a Japanese company dealing in wireless
services and that they are ready to provide "top quality content that
will fulfill the needs of fans in Japan."

      

ACCEL will
receive entertainment content from J. Tune and release it in early June
to Japan’s three major cellular service providers - NTT Docomo, KDDI,
and Softbank.

      

"We plan on sharing footage of Rain’s
performances and his daily life through the content service which can
be viewed in Japan anytime, anywhere," a J. Tune representative said.
"We hope that Japanese fans will show great interest in this new
service."

TVXQ Tops Japanese Oricon Chart

Popular male vocal group TVXQ recently reached the top of the Japanese Oricon Chart.

      

The
group’s 22nd single "Beautiful You" ranked number one on the Oricon
daily chart the day it was released on April 23. The song also ranked
number one on the May 5 weekly chart.

      

With "Beautiful
You" topping the Japanese Oricon Chart, TVXQ has become the first Asian
group to do so in the 24 years and five months since "Love is Over,"
sung by a Taiwanese female artist, topped the chart in December, 1983.

      

TVXQ
is currently on a nationwide tour in Japan, performing in a total of 17
concerts in front of 150,000 fans. The grand finale of TVXQ’s "TVXQ 3rd
Live Tour 2008-T" will take place at the Super Arena in Saitama on May
6.

      

Asian and even European fans are expected to flock to the final performance which will be held over Japan’s long weekend.

TVXQ! & Arashi Co-Ranked First

The
popular pop idols of Korea and Japan, TVXQ! and Arashi, ranked in first
place concurrently on the April 22nd Oricon charts.
      
TVXQ!’s 22nd single "Beautiful You" ranked first on the April 23rd
Oricon Daily Singles chart after selling approximately 21,000 albums.
      
The single was very popular with fans of the Bae Yong-jun TV drama
"Legend," as it features the theme song to the drama which started
broadcasting in Japan on the 5th.
      
Arashi’s original eighth album "Dream ‘A’ Live" shot to the tops of the
Oricon charts on the day of its release. It contains the tracks
"Happiness" and "Step and Go." Both were ranked number one on the
weekly singles charts. The album was a limited edition that also
included a special CD with each of the five members singing solo.
      
The live DVD they released on the 16th, "Summer Tour 2007, Final Time,"
was recorded as the best-selling DVD this year and commanded first
